A Long Netsuke Weekend in Leiden - May 2019

In May 2019, Chapter members Adrian Heindrichs and Henk Hoogsteden organised a Chapter visit to Leiden, The Netherlands, to see the Volkenkunde Museum and Sieboldhuis Japanese Museum.

Leiden is a charming city.  It is compact, has canals, attractive buildings, a fascinating history, a bustling market and shops, good restaurants and hotels, a cathedral and very pleasant inhabitants.  And several museums, including the two we visited.

The visit to Leiden also coincided with a talk being given by Rosemary Bandini to the Society for Japanese Arts.
